OneNote Essentials (Half-day class)
In our fast-paced digital world, the need to capture ideas, meeting notes, and to-do items is ever present. Microsoft® Office OneNote® 2016 provides a way for you to efficiently create and collect your notes in an electronic notebook. This course will introduce you to using OneNote notebooks to store a wide variety of content in an organized structure, access the content from anywhere, and also share it with others. Additionally, learning how OneNote and the other applications in the suite are integrated increases your productivity with Microsoft Office. In this course, you will develop digital note-taking skills by creating, modifying, and managing OneNote notebooks that work with other Microsoft Office programs. Topics include: Navigate and customize the OneNote interface and environment, add and format text, images, audio, links, and drawing objects to a notebook, embed Excel spreadsheets and attach other files to a notebook, categorize, organize, and search notebook content, use Outlook and OneDrive to send and share notebook content, and export content.
Prerequisites: Students should have significant experience using previous versions of MS Office (preferably 2007 to 2021).
Microsoft Teams Essentials (Half-day class)
The Microsoft Teams app is a collaborative application for Microsoft 365 that brings together instant message, channels and conversations, calls, meetings, and file storage using SharePoint. After completing this course, you will know how to communicate and collaborate with your project team using instant messaging and channel conversations, using @mentions, how to add and manage files, and co-author in real-time in files, work with Tabs, and initiate and participate in Teams meetings and calls.
Prerequisites or Equivalent Skills: Windows and basic use of MS Office applications including Outlook.
Microsoft Planner Essentials (Half-day class)
The Microsoft 365 Planner app makes it easy for your team to create new plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, chat about what you are working on, and get updates on progress. In this course you will understand the Planner Hub Dashboard, learn how to create Plans, create Buckets and their associated Tasks, complete Task details including Checklist Items, add Files to Tasks, Assign Tasks, and work with notifications. You will work with Plan views, such as Board, Chart, and Schedule views, and learn how to manage each. You will also learn how to change Task assignments, status, and manage Tasks assigned to you. Finally, you will explore the various Plan resources that are created along with your plan.
Prerequisites or Equivalent Skills: Windows and basic use of MS Office applications including Outlook.
Microsoft Forms Essentials (Half-day class)
The Microsoft 365 Forms app allows users to create custom web-based surveys, quizzes, polls, and questionnaires in which invitations can be sent to other users asking them to fill out the Microsoft Forms using any mobile device or computer. In this course you will learn now to create a Form for a Survey or Quiz, add and configure questions from available question types, preview Form and apply Themes, set up Branching Questions, manage Form Options, then share Forms and check Form results from the collected data - and even analyze the result in Excel.
Prerequisites or Equivalent Skills: Windows and basic use of MS Office applications including Outlook.
Microsoft Lists Essentials (Half-day class)
Microsoft Lists is a Microsoft 365 app that helps you track information and organize work. Lists are simple, smart, and flexible, so you can stay on top of what matters most to your team. Track issues, assets, routines, contacts, inventory and more using customizable views and smart rules and alerts to keep everyone in sync. With ready-made templates, you can quickly start lists online, on our new mobile app, or with Microsoft Teams. And because it is part of Microsoft 365, you can rely on enterprise-ready security and compliance. In this course, you will develop learn and understand the purpose and functionality of Microsoft Lists, navigate the Lists interface and use its features, create and modify custom columns, and collaborate with others using Lists, and finally integrate Lists with other Microsoft 365 apps
Prerequisites: Students should have significant experience using previous versions of MS Office (preferably 2007 to 2021).
SharePoint Online & OneDrive for Business File Managment Essentials (Half-day class)
Microsoft SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business are web platforms specifically designed to facilitate collaboration, allowing people to store, access, and manage files in a cloud-based environment. In this course, you will learn about and use a SharePoint Team Site to work with your organization’s files stored in document libraries. You will learn how to co-author Office files for simultaneous editing, access and restore prior versions of files, share files, use the check-in/check-out feature, and set alerts to be notified of file or folder changes. Similar to SharePoint Online, you will also learn how to use OneDrive for Business for accessing, managing, and sharing your personal work files. You will learn how to access both SharePoint and OneDrive files using Window’s File Explorer and how each integrate with your traditional Microsoft Office applications.
Prerequisites: To ensure your success in this course, you should have basic end-user skills with Microsoft Windows, and any or all of the Microsoft Office 365 suite components, plus basic competence with Internet browsing.
SharePoint Online- Site User
Microsoft® SharePoint® Online is a platform specifically designed to facilitate collaboration, allowing people to use familiar applications and Web-based tools to create, access, store, and track documents and data in a central location. In this course, you will learn about and use a SharePoint Team Site to access, store, and share information and documents. You will be able to use resources on a typical SharePoint Team Site in the course of performing normal business tasks, including: Interact with SharePoint Team Sites, work with documents, content, and libraries, interact in SharePoint, work with Lists, and integrate SharePoint with Microsoft Office.
Prerequisites: To ensure your success in this course, you should have basic end-user skills with Microsoft Windows, and any or all of the Microsoft Office 365 suite components, plus basic competence with Internet browsing.
SharePoint Online- Site Owner
Microsoft® SharePoint® Online is a platform specifically designed to facilitate collaboration, such, SharePoint has many distinct features that must be enabled and configured, and many content structures that can be selected, added, and configured. In this course, you will learn how to create, configure, and manage a SharePoint team site so that your team or organization can share information and collaborate effectively. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to create a SharePoint team site and perform basic content management tasks on a single SharePoint site, including; Create and configure new sites, add and configure document libraries, add and configure lists, create custom lists and forms, assign permissions and access rights, and extend SharePoint functionality with web apps.
Prerequisites: To ensure your success in this course, you will need basic SharePoint site user skills such as the ability to access and use lists, libraries, and documents on a typical SharePoint team site
Microsoft 365 Transition
This course covers those features of Microsoft 365 that are new to the Office system, with dedicated units for the new features of each application. Students will learn about changes to Colorful Office Themes, the new look for Ribbon tabs, and changes to Backstage for opening and saving files, and using @mentions. They will also learn Microsoft 365's new online features, including account sign-in, cloud storage, and online services. In Word they will use new Editor Pane for proofing documents, enhanced Comments and Sharing files. In Excel they will explore new Chart types, the new IFS function and text functions, how to use the new precision selection techniques and Forecasting feature. In Outlook they will use the new Attach Recent Files (for links or attachments), the new Focused Inbox and sort/filter techniques, Simplified Ribbon and People Suggestions. Finally, in PowerPoint they will apply new Design Ideas using professional layouts and text-based illustration suggestions, add motion with Morph transition, and using the new Zoom features for navigating between slides.
Prerequisites: Students should have significant experience using previous versions of MS Office (preferably 2007 to 2021). This course is intended to offer an overview of most (but not all) changes to the Office programs.
